An interesting news piece from local news WAFB: http://www.wafb.com/clip/13006945/ebr-murder-rate-dropped-in-2016
Apparently, there were 61 “murders” in Baton Rouge in 2016.
I’m not sure how to feel about this. Are we excited that it went down? Or, appears to have gone down? Do we celebrate this?
The fact is that we lost way too many people last year at the hands of another human being. I saw an article in ‘The Advocate’ the other day saying that “Judge declares defendant on trial for manslaughter sane.”
I thought to myself, “WHAT THE HELL IS SANE ABOUT MANSLAUGHTER?!?!” I understand the legal ramifications of declaring the defendant sane, but c’mon! No one that takes the life of another can be sane, right?
Let’s go for 0 murders Baton Rouge! Strong goals for 2017!
Be great,
-Ryan
